SDSU is a great place to work, it is fast paced, ever changing. No day is the same and I am always thinking and kind of strategizing how I'm going to get my tasks accomplished properly. All my supervisors are very helpful, the staff that I work with here in the union are very pleasant and nice. It makes me want to come to work. If you want a challenging, fulfilling job, this would be the place.
It’s a welcoming environment where I truly enjoy coming to work and appreciate both what I do and the people I work with. We work as a team - to expand and continuously grow our campus and maintain all the properties, to make campus as beautiful as it can be. I've always felt a part of the team, even as a student. Working at SDSU is a great opportunity.
I’ve been lucky to grow as a professional by serving on the Leadership Team for the Professional Staff Advisory Council. We advocate on behalf of professional staff and work with senior administration to promote staff recognition, concerns, and ideas. Our council has made some really meaningful contributions to shared governance at SDSU and opened up opportunities for professional staff. It’s also fun and enlightening to work with people in areas of the university that have different roles from mine.
It's great interacting with people and having an impact as they're going on to their further education. You're part of something bigger here, you're taking care of the little details and when you're finished with something, you can see the results. It's really nice to be around the campus, where everyone's with their peers, learning, in the next chapter of life and it's really fun to be a part of that.
